REMIX

Thank you REMIX attendees for making this one of the best DMI conferences to date. That says a lot!

The conference is over but this network will remain active for a few months. Expect another DMI online network in the future. We will keep you posted. In the meantime we will be adding additional information about the conference. Perhaps there is a conversation you want to continue from the conference? Continue the REMIX.

Nametags
This year we asked our attendees to REMIX their nametags and they made quite a statement. Wallace Church sponsored the nametags and turned it into a contest. The winner won a week in a villa at the Long Bay Beach Resort in Tortola, British Virgin Islands. Sabrina Prudham from Open Text in Waterloo, Ontario won the vacation.

Attendees contributed to this year's slideshow in large numbers. If two screenings weren't enough, by popular demand, here it is.

We recorded the conference and will have the video posted on dmi.org for attendees and DMI Members. All REMIX attendees and DMI Members will be notified as soon as it’s available.

DMI REMIX CONFERENCE—October 5–8, Ogunquit, Maine

What happens when you mix traditional approaches to design, identity, and branding with new ways, new tools, new influences? Is the result refreshing, revelatory, or revolting? The Design Management Institute's 33rd Annual Conference will explore the remix. This conference will energize and surprise you—it's designed to immerse you in a powerful blend of ideas that will transform your career and enterprise. Whether you are a established master or an up-and-coming disrupter, creative director or CEO, left- or right-brainer—see what happens when you you (re)mix with the other side.

This year’s conference marks an important milestone as we intensify our commitment to connecting members into a global community of design leaders. We hope you'll do more than attend. DMI is introducing a new program—DMIworks. During the conference we'll ask you to join a group that will tackle an important issue with the power of collaborative design.

Group 1: DMI CONNECT
Led by Eli Singer
This group will evolve DMI's use of Web 2.0 tools to better connect and inspire its members.

Group 2: MONEY FOR EVERYONE
Led by Marcia Lausen
This group will rethink and redesign paper money to be more accessible to the visually- and numismatically-impaired.

An Ethical Question … Please Comment

Brand Autopsy:- UPDATED (June 10): Thanks everyone for the thoughtful comments. To avoid any question ... going forward, I will disclose how I receive business books reviewed on the blog. Lots of great conversation is happening about the ethics of compensating bloggers with cash, in-kind gifts, and special access privileges in exchange for writing a post about the product/service a business provides them. This conversation has me thinking about how I’ve been compensated for some posts on this blog. Because I

SEDONA | The Moore Boys (home video)

Brand Autopsy:- NOTE: OFF-TOPIC blog post Since the Fourth of July weekend is usually when families gather together, I'm sharing a recent gathering of the Moore Family.Technology makes home movies and old-school slide shows so much better. Super 8 home movies and Kodak Kodachrome slides on the projector screen were great back-in-the-day. However, these days, we have iMovie to make our home movies of vacations more enjoyable and sharable. Recently I spent a few days in Sedona, AZ with my father (age 74), brother (44), nephew (13), and of course me (39). We called it our...
